Boom Racing's Race Horses

SNICKI MINAJ - Hinchinbrook x Mezmar

Snicki Minaj

This filly is currently flying the flag for Boom Racing Thoroughbreds and our owners. Having won her 1st trial in a canter after doing similar in a jump out she started out in Listed Grade in the Calaway Gal stakes where she had no luck down the straight. In the end she was beaten 3.1 lengths behind Magic Millions placegetter Outback Barbie who is her work mate on the gallops.

Snicki's next assignment was over the same distance and track and she recorded a resounding 3 length victory over her rivals to book her place in the Inglis Classic Race. She ran a super race in the $250,000 RL race finishing 4th after being 5 wide the entire trip and never being allowed to travel throughout the race. She has already developed a cult following amongst racegoers.

MISSARI - More Than Ready x Miss Otto

This filly is by one of the greatest stallions of all time in both hemispheres More Than Ready. She was purchased at the Melbourne Premier Sale this year and her pedigree features Mill Reef high on the Dam side. She is a filly we purchased with the view of breeding with if she can perform on the race track.

Her mother Miss Otto is the 1/2 sister to Stakes performers Oui Si Attitude and Miss With Attitude. Her features include a great eye and lovely head and whilst still having development ahead of her handles everything thrown at her out on the track.

BOOMTOWN LASS - Spirit of Boom x Boomalicious

Boomalicious

This filly is by the Boom 1st Season Stallion Champion Spirit of Boom. He sired a record equalling 18 individual winners and was leading 2yo Stakes Winner in Australia. 3 time City winning mare Boomalicious was a lightly raced mare whose career was cut short through injury. She won from 1200-1650 metres.

Boomtown Lass was desperately unlucky on debut being beaten by the smallest of margins after being blocked for a run the majority of the straight. A home bred who could develop into a nice older horse who will get over ground.

STEEL PIER - Pierro x Apprise

By the hottest stallion in the country Pierro after an astonishing 2nd season at stud were he took all before taking out the 2nd season stallion honours as well as finishing in the Top 2 General Sires list despite having only 2 racing crops. This colt was one that got under everyone's guard and we purchased him at a 1/3 of what we valued him at.

Steel Pier's mother was an $800,000 yearling who had only 2 starts before injury finished her racing career. On her second start she blew the field away to win her maiden and looked to have very good ability. This colt is not built in the mode of a Pierro and looks a chance to go early.

OUR GIRL WANDA - Wandjina x Idriess

Our Girl Wanda was purchased at the January Magic Millions sale from Bowness Stud. She is by the first season Stallion Wandjina who was a Group 1 winner for Gai Waterhouse and out of the 1/2 sister to Magic Millions winner Karuta Queen Idriess.

Idriess is the mother of  Zero Hedge who was purchased by John Foote for $550,000 as a yearling and is the winner of  multiple races in Hong Kong. The filly will be trained by Matt Dunn at Murwillumbah

THE GREAT BOOMBINO - Spirit of Boom x Swing and Miss

Spirit of Boom - Swing and Miss

By our Dual Group 1 winning sire Spirit of Boom this girl is from a high class winning family through the second dam and the 1st dam has done a good job from her 6 foals to run producing 5 winners. Spirit of Boom was precocious who trained on to win his group 1's as a 6 year old. He has taken all before him at stud.

The Great Boombino has made an auspicious start to her race career but was always going to be a filly who would need time and eventually get over some ground. Her latest 4th on her 3rd career start was an improvement in the right direction and something to kick on from.

EL CAMPEADOR - Captain Sonador x Golden Whistler

By Captain Sonador this gelding is a quality racehorse and listed class quality on his day. He is the winner of 6 wins and over $156,000 in prizemoney. Big El won 2 Metropolitan Races last campaign and over $90,000 in Stakes money in total.

The ground under foot is extremely important in terms of performance. His best performances are on a track that is on the dead side of good. El Campeador is back in the Tony Gollan stable and will hit the trials in the upcoming weeks.

So You Think x Follow the Till

By the outstanding 10 time Group 1 winning racehorse So You Think this filly also has the breeding through the dam line. Out of a multiple stakes winning General Nediym mare Follow The Till this filly was a great buy at $36,000 from the Adelaide Magic Millions sale.

She is trained by the King of the Highway's Matt Dunn at Murwillumbah and this filly has the breeding to go early whilst also get over ground in time. Her full sister had the one start as a 2-year-old over 900m and was beaten by the shortest of margins.

Dream Ahead x Meiko's Diamond

When you buy the progeny of Dream Ahead you attempt to get something that will go early. This filly was purchased with the hope that would be the case. Her mother Meiko's Diamond was an extremely quick horse who on her day was very hard to run over the short course distances.

She is trained by Matt Dunn at Murwillumbah and this filly will be given every opportunity to qualify for the Magic Millions. We don't say that lightly and in fact is the only horse we have said this about. She is strong and has all the attributes to go fast and early.

Spirit of Boom x Miss Leibert Colt

We bred this gelding and as a foal was a very good type. As he became older he started to develop a swayback and that meant he spent time in the paddock rather than going through sales preparations as he was not a horse to take through a sale.

We eventually gelded him hoping that could straighten him up somewhat, in the end it didn't. We then decided to get him broken-in and went through that process without a hitch. After a 4 week spell in the paddock it was into Lindsay Hatch for his first race preparation. He went all the way through to 2 jump outs and went very close to lining up in a race.He will have a short spell before embarking on his 2nd preparation at which time we hope to see him on the track in a race.

Al Maher x Shirra Nui Colt

We had to have this colt and it seemed others did as well with 3 parties in a bidding war over securing him. He is a big colt, typical of the best of AL MAHER'S progeny. He moves outstanding and looks effortless when galloping. He will not be an early 2yo but more so a horse that will make the track as a mid to late 2yo before showing his best as a 3yo and beyond.

The progeny train on and get over distance as a rule of thumb and you can see this colt doing the same. He is trained by Tony Gollan at Eagle Farm and as the distances step out, the better you feel this fellow will acquit himself.
